Unmarked old Etruscan majolica compote, 1870s or 1880s Griffen, Smith and Hill, Pennsylvania. This is a lovely thing, an all-over green rather like Bordallo Pinheiro pottery made over 100 years later!
The border is a vine, and the center motif is a cherub with a lion or a griffin - love conquers all. It's about 10" in diameter x 4" tall, with discolored crazing and rub marks and a worn old chip consistent with it's age.
