Heavy tin plated brass strainer from an old dairy farm here in Wisconsin. We're guessing it was made as press for small soft farmer's cheese, as it's a pretty primitive piece as many old dairy tools are.
It's about 3 1/4" deep, 4" in diameter at the sieve, 5 1/4" across the top. This is showing wear and age darkening to the finish, but no holes or cracks to the funnel, and the bottom is firmly in place all around.
