vintage pure linen thread in cherry red & pine green, fine yarn for bobbin or needle lacemaking, crochet lace

Lot of two new old stock spools of pure linen thread in beautiful rustic style Christmas colors (wild cherry and conifer green). Label is Davis Cordage of San Francisco.

This was sold to weavers during the 50s and 60s when handweaving was still very popular - but linen is also a lovely fiber for lacemaking, or knitted or crochet lace. Or for folk art style hand stitching or embroidery. Or for tying parcels or threading hang tags, or bunching flowers or herbs.

So there's lots of uses for this thread. And it looks great just sitting around on these spools, too. It's nice and clean without fading or soil, though there's old prices on the plastic wrap in marker.
