30's vintage, old electric doorbell with a bakelite button. The door bell measures about 2 1/2" across the steel bell and 5 1/2" high overall. The deco bakelite button measures 1 3/4" square over the brown bakelite body and 3/8" across the red bakelite push button.
There is also a transformer for powering the doorbell. The transformer is marked for converting 110 volt AC electricity to low voltage DC to power the electric magnets in the door bell. The transformer has an old electric cord pigtail with a bakelite plug. Both the door bell and the transformer have heavy screw type electric terminals.
We've connected the bell to a 12 volt automotive battery and it works great! We have not tested the transformer as the pigtail is cracked and broken, with bare wire showing. This will have to be rewired and we are selling this for parts. It has old off-white paint.
