Old antique iron socket for holding the driving whip on a horse drawn buggy or surrey from an old farm estate in Amish country near Portage, Wisconsin. This is the original antique whip socket, not a newer reproduction.
It measures about 7" long and has the original 1/4" threaded studs for mounting the whip socket to the buggy. This has a patina of age and a little light surface rust.
