





Old antique 1873 edition of "The Great Industries of the United States". This book has 1304 pages and over 500 illustrations. This book gives a wonderful look at the history and state of more then 150 industries and industrial and commercial products produced in the United States in the 1860s and 1870s. There are tons of wonderful engravings of factories and buildings, industrial and agricultural machines, technical illustrations and more!
We saw some fascinating sections on steam engines, steam ships, railroads and fire engines. There were sections about knitting and sewing machines, salt and sugar production, curtain fixtures, ornamental ironwork, bronze castings and gas lighting. The US produced billiard tables and artificial limbs, firearms and fire-works. It covers steel, safes and locks, gold and silver mining woolen and silk dress goods, hats and much more!
The boards are worn and loose and the cover of the spine is missing, but the pages seem tight.
