Large 15", 1950s vintage, Detecto hanging farmers market produce or grocery scale with a procelain enamel scale pan. This is a double faced scale and is made by "Detecto Scales - Brooklyn 5, NY USA". This scale has a 30 pound capacity (takes three revolutions of the needle) and is marked by 1 oz increments. It is also marked on the face "Legal for fruits and vegetables - Not other foods". This is out of the estate of a man who ran a garden center and small farm market stand for many years, but we don't know if the scale is still accurately calibrated for trade.
This scale measures 15 inches across the face and 18 inches high over the scale (and about 34 inches high over the hanging scale tray). The enamel tray measures about 15 inches across and 4 inches deep. .
The graniteware enamel scale tray is in very nice shape, but the glass face on one face of the scale is cracked and there is wear and flaking / peeling to the chrome in areas on the scale body and bezels.
