Very early electric ceiling light, World War I to 1920's vintage, in very nice, unrestored condition. The fixture is ornate cast metal (a zinc alloy?) with gilt colored finish, and touches of red and green over the gold. The finish is all original, and has a little light scratching and wear.
This is about 17" in diameter, and is made to hold five standard size socket light bulbs. This would be of the style that holds round light bulbs, unshaded. An electric light was something to be proud of then, and light bulbs were nothing to hide!
