Antique hand-tinted printed cotton pillowtop to embroider, early century vintage, original, not a reproduction. This one is "The Stars and Stripes", with the American flag. The embroidery work on this one has been neatly begun on the flag poles, with silky copper colored silk or rayon imitation silk embroidery floss, though it looks simple to un-pick the stitching if you'd rather have a plain un-stitched painted piece.
This pillow top measures about 21" x 21" to the unfinished edges of the fabric, and is marked at the lower edge "Style Design No. 51", not marked Vogart, though this looks like one of their designs.
The colors are clear without fading, and the ivory cotton fabric has only very light age discoloration. The fabric would be great for framing, or as a quilt block, as well as a pillow top.
