Antique silk ribbon, lovely for your vintage sewing, hat trimmings or other millinery work, or pretty as gift package trims or other ornaments.
This came to us with an estate collection of many years... many beautiful old silk, satin, and grosgrain ribbons, some French and some American made. These were very carefully stored, and look nice, without soil or foxing, or any signs of brittleness.
This roll of ribbon is marked with line drawing of race horses and the motto "Can't Be Beat". The ribbon is a deep dove grey color, matte finish silk, 1 1/2" wide, this length is 8 yards, this one does have some fading marks about 2 yards in, where it's been wrapped inside the roll for about 100 years, so we're thinking it's an original maker's flaw.
