Vintage old industrial street furniture... a Gamewell fire alarm call box for restoration or parts. This alarm box is marked Gamewell Co, Newton, Mass and also with a patent date of "Jan 1, 1924". It still has the original call box / alarm station label tag. This alarm box was station No. 28. It also has a glass magnifying lens on the front cover for the alarm pull.
The box is aluminum (or maybe a zinc alloy, It is marked "Herculite" in small letters on the front) and measures 17" high, 12.5" wide across the top and about 6" deep. The door is 10" wide and 12.25" high.
There is no lock or interior fire alarm mechanism as shown. It the top of the box there is a sawn-off threaded nipple for the mounting conduit and there is a piece broken out of the bottom from the conduit hole. The piece is missing and there is age and wear to the old red paint.
