victorian vintage antique flat top slat trunk, old steamer or train luggage

Antique canvas covered wood slat steamer trunk, circa late 1800s or very early 1900s, with original interior fittings. We haven't been able to find a maker's label, inside or out, but this came out of an estate in south-western Wisconsin, more likely the Oshkosh brand than the fancy French luggage it resembles!

This is a flat top trunk, measures 34" x 20 1/2" x 12", nicely sized for storage, it's fairly easy to move around, and has sturdy leather handles on either end.

The trunk is in original, as found condition, not shined up, or varnished. The cotton canvas on the exterior shows some wear and small tears, and the interior cotton lining fabric shows some wear and soil. No odors of smoke or mildew at all, this was obviously carefully stored, and kept dry. The metal corners have bumps and dings from the trunk's travels, but the lid opens and closes without problems, no structural damage. We don't have a key.
