antique Western Electric telephone extension ringer bell, 1914 patents

Large old industrial telephone external ringer bell with the original "Western Electric" decal label. This old remote telephone ringer has a pair of large (6" diameter) steel bells and a heavy cast iron body with black japanned enamel finish. The mounting base for the electro-magnets / solenoids that move the hammer is marked with two patent dates from 1914.

The solenoids look in good condition, but we didn't test them as we're not sure of the proper type of electricity (AC or DC) or the correct voltage.
