antique wood carpenter's tool boxes, two vintage woodworking tool chests

Two very old wooden tool boxes, both in need of restoration. These are both in poor condition, leather handles missing, hardware worn and tarnished (or missing), roughness and spotting and cracks / splits and to the wood of the boxes and the one remaining wood tool tray.

We don't often find these any more, and would love to think that this set could be rescued. They would make beautiful finished pieces once restored, these vintage boxes were made as elegantly as furniture, handsome cabinets to store your woodworking tools.

Sizes of the two boxes are similar, but not identical - one box measures 18" x 7" x 8" tall, the other measures 18 1/2" x 7" x 7".
