Whirlpool / Provincial pattern vintage heavy pressed glass punch bowl, cups, huge plate

Crystal clear heavy pressed glass wedding punch set - a bowl, ten cups, a huge underplate or torte plate for a wedding cake - Heisey Whirlpool or Imperial Provincial.

We're inclined to believe that this is older (1930s - 40s Heisey Whirlpool pattern) rather than newer (1960s Imperial glass Provincial pattern, made in Heisey's old molds from the Whirlpool line.

There's a large chip to the bowl which has been professionally filed and smoothed to 'repair' and it seems we don't often see that kind of effort being put into restoring / repairing most household goods from the mid 20th century onwards. Anyway, it's lovely - whomever the maker, and in spite of the damage!

The bowl measures about 11" in diameter, and the plate measures about 18" in diameter. The cups and the plate look very good, the bowl has that very large, very smooth chip.
