Antique Bavaria china plate for a wedding cake - beautiful, very Victorian style with traditional bridal flowers of roses and lilies of the valley.
This is late 1800s or early 1900s vintage, when wedding cakes were generally made for just a small group of friends and family. The plate measures about 12" across the handles, made to hold a cake something like 10 1/2" in diameter.
It's factory hand painted, marked on the reverse as shown. This round JHR mark is Hutschenreuther - Rosenthal, Bavaria. There's some very light wear to the gold, but floral looks nice and there's no chips or cracks to the china.
