We love the tiny 'baby lace' on this salvaged cotton flounce, it's not often we find much hand knit lace!
The cotton it's stitched to has a few seams and a few tears down the 5 yards total length, but we didn't see wear to damage to the lace edging itself. Just a little soil, remarkable considering this is probably a little over 100 years old.
The lace is 1/4" deep at the points, and lace and cotton flounce together measure 2 1/4" deep, with raw edge at the top of the cotton. A beautiful piece of 'antique whites' to use for a baby layette, or a wedding petticoat.
